PROJECT OVERVIEW
This project involved capturing aerial footage for the opening sequence of the Clean Harbors 200 NASCAR event, a nationally televised race. The footage was designed to provide broadcast-ready establishing shots that could introduce the venue and surrounding environment to television audiences.
The goal was to produce clear, cinematic aerial imagery that could integrate smoothly into the broadcast opener and help establish the scale and atmosphere of the event.

THE CHALLENGE
Broadcast opening sequences rely on strong establishing imagery to orient viewers and introduce the setting of the event. The production team required aerial footage that could clearly present the speedway environment while remaining flexible for use within the broadcast edit.
Because the footage would be used within a live television production workflow, the material also needed to be captured efficiently and delivered in formats suitable for broadcast integration.

APPROACH
The production focused on aerial establishing shots designed specifically for broadcast use. Drone cinematography was used to capture wide views of the venue and surrounding area, creating visual context for the race and supporting the editorial pacing of the broadcast opener.
Shots were planned to provide a range of perspectives that could be used for both wide introductions and shorter visual transitions within the broadcast sequence.

PREDUCTION PROCESS
Aerial filming was conducted on location prior to the event broadcast. Multiple drone shots were captured to provide the editorial team with a selection of establishing views and motion shots of the speedway.
The footage was recorded and delivered for integration into the event opener, providing flexible material that could support both live production and post-production editing needs.

OUTCOME
The resulting aerial footage was incorporated into the broadcast opening sequence for the Clean Harbors 200 NASCAR event, helping introduce the venue and establish the setting for viewers at the start of the televised race.
The project demonstrates how aerial documentation can support large public events by providing clear visual context and cinematic establishing imagery for broadcast storytelling.
